đŠ 9 Ways to Source vs Survive â Even When Anxiety, Duty & Feeling Wrong Reign đ

Most of us are efforting all the time⊠and donât even realize it.
We wake up already tense.
We say yes when we mean no.
We check the things off the list â sometimes even the self-care things! And yet somehow, we still feel depleted. Exhausted. Angry, even. And we often donât know why.
So what gives?
I think it comes down to a world that taught us living in survival-mode is normal. Even our coping mechanisms and wellness rituals often involve effort.
Weâve been so displaced outside of ourselves by a world that consumes instead of immerses us⊠technologizes instead of naturalizes us⊠terrorizes instead of nurtures usâŠ
That we donât even know what it would look like to live from our center and create from our Source.
So how about we explore some examples?
Below are 9 real-life moments â where effort sneaks in, where anxiety and depression and stress often reign.
For each moment, I offer an example of how you could Source the moment instead of survive it.
How you Source will be as unique as you are.
These arenât guidelines or rules or instructions.
Theyâre portals â into whatâs possible when you create from your core.
This is Sourcing. Itâs not magic. Itâs moments.
How to Shift From Survival to Sourcing đ«¶
1. Survival: You wake up already tense, scanning for problems.
Sourcing: You acknowledge the noise without listening to it yet. You pause. You breathe. You let the morning light rest on your face.
And you allow the space of that moment to expand into your day â instead of letting the noise of the world crash into you.
2. Survival: Every dayâs to-do list incites a minor panic-attack.
Sourcing: You set the list aside for a moment. You breathe space into your body. Then choose one thing you can do today that moves the dial forward. Choose another thing that you can look forward to after.
Even if one feels like pressure, the other one can feel like the pull to what you love. If the rest doesnât get done, at least those did. Create a day that balances, not breaks you.
3. Survival: You apologize for resting.
Sourcing: You let yourself lay down anyway. And in the stillness, you feel your body unclench like itâs finally been given permission to exist. Give your body 3 10-minute moments like this in a day and it can unwind.
Consider trading the time wasted in doomscrolling or ingesting media / social negativity for time investing in your body - and donât put it off. The moment your body asks for a pause, honor it. Your body will open and your life will reflect that.
4. Survival: You spend hours preparing for things that might never happen.
Sourcing: You stop mid-prep and place your hand over your heart. You feel the tension that thinks preparation equals protection. But instead of pushing forward, you sit back. And your body exhales â because for once, it doesnât have to brace.
Remember that your brain and body canât tell the difference between what you live and what you imagine. Repeatedly preparing for worst case scenarios actually dooms your body to living them like a broken record (so no wonder it breaks down).
You donât have to fix anything. Sometimes conscious breathing and somatic presence is enough. Say hello to your body, instead of mentally inhabiting a future you donât want.
5. Survival: You say âyesâ when your body is screaming âno.â
Sourcing: You catch the no before it gets buried. You let it rise all the way to your mouth â and say it. It might land with discomfort, but your spine straightens anyway. Because this time, you didnât abandon yourself.
Your âyesâ can often come from sacrifice roles rather than your authentic presence. Hereâs how to tell the difference.
6. Survival: You always feel behind, even when youâre doing everything.
Sourcing: You close the laptop mid-thought. You stare out the window. And in that moment, nothing is solved â but something is restored. Time doesnât feel like a threat. It feels like something youâre finally inside of.
Oftentimes that feeling of never doing enough, going fast enough, or achieving enough isnât reality. Itâs a program or overlay running on top of your perception. You can pattern interrupt it by simply pausing and allowing some white space.
7. Survival: You research obsessively to avoid getting it wrong.
Sourcing: You stop the scroll, even though the answers still feel unclear. You stop trying to figure out how to emulate success and find again the raw, unfiltered, unglamoured Self of you that has something damningly urgent to say. Then say it. Unapologetically. Not so they listen. So that you finally witness yourself.
Life isnât about getting things right. Itâs about expressing YOU so reality can mirror you back. If youâre not true, the reflection wonât be either.
8. Survival: You feel like life is a series of things to fix.
Sourcing: You notice one small thing that doesnât need changing â a leaf, a breath, the way light hits your floor. You let your system feel it fully. And that moment, undisturbed, becomes your anchor for the rest of the day.
Donât discount the little things that donât serve a purpose. Donât discount the aliveness in you that doesnât solve or achieve something. Life dishes you back what you show up for. Show up for that smile. That belly breath. That drive to the coast or the mountains or that tucked away garden that letâs you sigh in awe.
9. Survival: You collapse at the end of the day, still feeling like you didnât do enough.
Sourcing: You sit on the edge of your bed, not in defeat but in reflection. You feel your heartbeat. You notice the aliveness that stayed with you through every task. And instead of measuring yourself, you meet yourself â right here.
Donât get overwhelmed by trying to Source everything at once. Maybe this next week you just select one or two items in the list to keep in mind.
And when you encounter the moment, choose to Source it rather than survive it.
Thatâs the power of Sourcing â not as an abstract idea, but as a felt shift in your lived experience.
So how do you take it deeper?
Sure, you can meet each moment. Or you can Source your whole day.

â« An Invitation: The Source Lab đ„
Sourcing isnât something you learn in order to do.
Itâs something you do in order to live it.
Thatâs why I do my best to transmit its principles and aspects in targeted, actionable examples.
But mostly, I want to co-create all that Sourcing can do TOGETHER with you.
So, on September 1st, Iâm going to open a candid and potent container for 10â20 of us who are ready to discover the momentum and magnitude of what births when we Source together.
Itâll be a co-creation space â where we Source, share, and shape our lives, and the collective, and whatâs next.
Rather than ask you to pore through hundreds of hours of âmasterclassesâ and trainings and theoryâŠ
Weâre going to move with the yearâs energies (remember the pagan Wheel of the Year we used to talk about in SOMA Daily?!) within monthly transformation themes.
And weâll walk the month together to Source new reality states with:
Clear guidance on the roles weâll all recode together
Step-by-step nullification practices to exit obsolete or limiting architectures
Authorship declaration scripts and templates for creating your own
Fiercely held conversation spaces where we donât dim, we donât clash, we donât perform - and we are utterly true (as a crisis healer Iâve had to hold these spaces for years and itâs a field presence I deeply love to give)
And so much moreâŠ
Because everyone I talk to, and myself included, is asking for sisterhood⊠brotherhood⊠and a space where we donât have to fit into someone elseâs self-conceptâŠ
Where we donât have to be productive enough⊠spiritual enough⊠where we donât have to earn belonging or displace our power.
Where weâre not trying to fix ourselves, or each other, or trying to figure out how to escape suffering or ascend to something better.
Where we simply Source the communion. The fulfillment. The bliss and prosperity and love and light. And we fall in love with what IS because we Sourced it that way.
I canât wait to see who is called into this container with me.
